According to Global Forest Watch, Malaysia has lost nearly 30% of tree cover since 2000 - putting it among the countries with the highest rates of deforestation. Despite that, most Malaysians still think of climate change as something only caused by larger, fossil fuel-consuming countries.
What if there was a way to make Malaysians as zealous when it comes to conservation?
The Idea
Monuments around the world depict soldiers planting flags as a show of patriotism. But without a planet, there would be no country for them to fight for. So what if instead of planting flags, we planted trees?
Working with army veterans of Malaysia, this pro-bono campaign of ours turned national monuments into a call for global action.

Launched on International Climate Change Day, the #Fight4OurPlanet resonated with everyday Malaysians and even celebrities - all of whom began planting trees and tagging 4 friends to do the same.
